Susan:  
 
I received my undergraduate degree and graduate certifications in education from the University of California with highest honors, leading to a brief career in teaching and counseling.  Although I formally transitioned to real estate as a full-time profession in 1983, I find that my skills in negotiation, facilitation, and counseling are as important now as they were earlier in my education career.  I am intensely interested in people, and I have built my business around the formation of meaningful relationships with my clients as they embark upon one of the most important financial transactions of their life.  Being a trusted advisor is one of the most important dimensions of this relationship.  I understand the financial magnitude of the real estate transaction, the importance of balancing the needs of family, and the significant impact relocation will have on everyone involved.

I am extremely proud of the successful business that we have built while maintaining an active level of involvement in our community and being involved parents with our two sons. I see this accomplishment as a reflection of our ability to understand people's needs -- being responsive, professional, and highly ethical in all of our real estate relationships. My clients tell me that I really listen, and that I sincerely care about them. With over 80 percent of my business generated from client referrals, I truly strive to build long-term relationships. I refer to it as simply developing clients for life!

Ron:  

I began my career in marketing and sales after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. degree, and then later adding an MBA in Marketing and Finance.  Prior to embarking upon a career in real estate in the year 2000, I held various senior leadership positions in marketing and sales with Fortune 100 telecommunications and data networking companies.  This included holding the position of Sales VP for a health care technology business unit of AT&T and being VP of Sales Operations for AT&T's Business Sales in the western US.

My professional experience in corporate America enabled me to build a portfolio of skills in customer service, finance, sales, marketing, technology, and negotiating that few real estate professionals have had had the opportunity to acquire. Over the years, I have continued to build upon my technical skills in the application of technology to the marketing of our clients’ homes and the management of our clients' transactions.  Over recent years, this has included being at the forefront of the use of Social Media, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), video and other related technologies, now critically important to being a successful marketer in today's world.  As a real estate professional, I take pride in being highly focused on the needs of our clients, results oriented, and achieving a level of professionalism that is uncommon in this business. 

We are both people oriented with an uncompromising sense of business ethics, personal integrity, and professionalism in everything we undertake. People buy from people… not from companies. Sales is an intensely personal business, and real estate sales is one of the most personal because of the enormous proportion of net worth involved in the purchase or sale of one's home. Our success in achieving our clients’ objectives is evidenced by our ranking within the Top 5% of over 500 J. Rockcliff agents and within the Top 1% of all Contra Costa County real estate agents.  Together, we pledge excellence in our client relationships and the highest level of results achievement possible in this industry.

We are also proud parents of two wonderful sons, Jeffrey and Brian, whom we raised here in Lafayette.  Jeffrey is a recent graduate of Santa Clara University and now works for Target as part of their Executive Leadership program.  Brian graduated from the University of Southern California, is getting his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, and is currently starting a company called SkillSlate.com.
